This Aunty and Uncle sure missed their favorite little people while they were living the gypsy life in Africa. Luckily their moms had us over for a dinner date so we could catch up on some laughin, lovin, and rollin in the leaves!
Ahhh, what wonders a little sea, sun and sand can do for the soul.
We spent last week at a little gem of a resort called the Riu at Ocho Rios, it was the perfect spot to let all our troubles wash away in the waves. It's been a long while since we indulged in a totally relaxing, all inclusive vacay, and we forgot just how wonderful it is to stretch out on a beach chair in one spot with nowhere else to go! A very different holiday from the last few trips, but of course we found a few different ways to discover this gorgeous island.
We celebrated the beautiful love story of Adam and Lindsay at their romantic beach wedding which brought us all to this tropical paradise! There were evening dance parties on the beach and a night swim to commence the week of love, laughter and liquor...another mojito please!

We hit the Blue Hole to cliff jump from a little retreat in the jungle and celebrated the birthday of the national treasure, the one and only Bob Marley. A truly beautiful and inspiring culture to learn from.
Every little thing gonna be alright.
We finished our scuba certification with four dives in the stunning aqua sea. And being the gracious guest that I am in a brand new underwater world, I thought an entry into the deep sea would be rude without providing a little hostess gift for the fishies. So I delivered...three times in one trip. Not really how I planned to start the open water certification, but I guess once that was out of the system I was good to go, and now I'm a diver! Yeah mon!

Day 2 - September 5
Majestic, that's what today was like for us. We spent our whole day at Buckingham Palace, you know, the humble abode of her majesty the queen.
We weren't sure what to expect, but once we got inside it was unreal to think this is where the queen actually lives. We are in her house. Like she is probably up in her room sorting all her crown jewels whilst Prince Phillip sips on scotch in one of his art galleries, you know?! Although her interior design taste might not exactly be my taste, our affection for the color gold is probably spot on. I think this lady is pretty darn awesome, I'm not going to lie, maybe it's because sometimes I imagine that my grams is actually her and we watch old black and white films in the theatre room lounging on red velvet couches, sipping on tea...what? we don't do that at Buckingham Palace? Oh. Guess will just stick to doing that in Edmonton then.
Anyways, doesn't really matter what the stories were they told us in that palace, I was intrigued by the pomp and circumstance of it all. I love to learn more about the ins and outs of the monarchy, to imagine the family sitting down to a casual family dinner together, laughing and letting loose after a long week, to be standing in the same foyer where the duchess stood with her prince after her wedding, to be in the same room where the queen prepared for her coronation in 1953.
We weren't able to take pictures inside, but it was as colourful as the history of the royal family. After we walked through hall after hall after hall, we retired to the courtyard to sit back and have tea in the warm afternoon light.
We ended our short little stay in London with a sunset paddle boat in beautiful Hyde Park.
More to come on our next stop - Paris!

Well friends...as they say The Honeymoon's Over. Excuse the cheesy idiom and me...while I go have a little cry over in the corner. I can't believe it has come and gone. It honestly felt like we blinked and then wondered if all of that really happened?! So it's a really good thing that I kept a bit of a journal and took a bazillion pictures to prove to myself that it really did happen and it wasn't ALL just a really, really amazing dream.
I'll let the pictures do most of the talking, they are so much better at it than I am.
Day 1 - September 4: London Bridge isn't falling down, And it isn't even called London Bridge.
Today we woke up in London, we couldn't be happier to start this grand adventure through Europe. To think that this is our honeymoon, is a dream come true and its been a long timing coming. I can't think of anything else I'd rather do than roam a new place with my handsome husband.
There are so many iconic sights to take in in this city. We started by walking to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and the London Eye.
We took a boat to London Bridge and you can rest assured, my friends, it's really not falling down. Fewwfff. It was a busy day, and the architecture here is unreal. I think it's just a foreshadow of what's to come in our days ahead, because a continent with this much history just oozes with old character and charm. I'm ready to soak it all up with a young, fresh, charmer holding my hand along the way.
Its hard to believe that its been six months since this dreamy day happened, but somehow we blinked and then lit some sparklers and now its 2014. I havent even had a chance to share some of the images that so beautifully documented our perfect day, so here it is: the official day that the DOW chronicles all began.
All images are credited to the wonderfully amazing Kelsy Nielson from Edmonton, Ab.
If you are looking for a photographer, we can't say enough good words about her
(and you can see why!)
All of me loves all of you,
Love your curves and all your edges,
All your perfect imperfections.
Give your all to me, I'll give my all to you,
You're my end and my beginning,
Even when I lose, Im winning,
Cause I give you all of me,
And you give me all of you.
